The new core guidance from the Charity Commission summarises the main duties of charity trustees, suggest areas of good practice and highlights some common mistakes. The Commission expects that trustees can explain and justify their approach to running their charity. It also suggests that following good practice will help the trustees run their charity effectively and comply with their legal duties.
The guidance aims to reinforce the significant responsibilities of charity trusteeship whilst encouraging volunteer trustee boards to be confident in fulfilling those responsibilities and making decisions.
Key aspects of this new guidance will be discussed at our Burton Sweet Charity Seminar ‘Cruising or all at sea?’on 30 September.
